Facebook’s political ad disclosures are a train wreck in progress
As the midterm elections ramp up — and the foreign interference from Russian operatives during the 2016 election continues to haunt people — Google, Facebook and Twitter have all announced more stringent rules around online ad disclosures. And the Federal Election Commission too is seeking public input on a proposal that would expand political ad disclosure rules for other media to mobile apps. So far, though, the disclosure rules are a work in progress and flaws are already emerging.
Hiding in plain sight: The HTML5 security conundrum
