We provided an update on the W3C’s Do Not Track Standard and the efforts of the Digital Advertising Alliance. However, we spent most of our time discussing the President’s privacy initiatives that were announced on Monday, January 12. This deck provides a thumbnail sketch of the 4-pronged announcement along with links to more information about each initiative.

DCN Tech Day 2015
April 2, 2015DCN Tech Day 2015 took place April 2, 2015 at the Time Inc. Building in New York, NY. This annual, member’s-only event is designed for senior technology executives from DCN member companies.
Tech Day 2015 featured presentations from DCN members and industry guests on viewability, ad-blocking, fraud and security, encouraging diversity in tech teams and other hot tech topics. The agenda can be found here: Agenda.

The DAA has announced that September 1, 2015, will be the U.S. enforcement date for its Mobile Guidance to its Principles. The DAA’s two accountability partners — the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Direct Marketing Association — will commence active monitoring and enforcement of the mobile marketplace (tablets, phablets and smartphones), adding to their existing enforcement of DAA Principles. For Digital Content Next members interested in what the enforcement partners will be watching for, particularly as it may pertain to first parties, representatives of the DAA and CBBB will present.
