Dan Check is Chief Executive Officer of The Slate Group, publisher of Slate and home of audio subscription startup Supporting Cast. Previously, he led the expansion of Slate’s product and development team, growing subscription revenue by adding a metered paywall to its subscription podcast offering.

Prior to joining Slate, he led the team that built and managed a national voter database at Catalist, a political data vendor. Before that, he spent several years working at the intersection of data and field for political campaigns.

He is a graduate of Pomona College and currently lives outside of Washington DC with his wife and two children.
