Georgia-Kate Schubert discussed how Australia’s competition authority ultimately developed a mandatory code requiring platforms to pay news publishers. The session closed with a guided discussion about whether and/or what changes are needed to the copyright landscape in the US for publishers to be more fairly compensated for original content.
