DESCRIPTION:This is an exclusive members-only event series designed for senior policy executives from our member companies to hear from their peers and outside experts on pressing regulatory issues facing publishers. \nIn this session\, Dr. Ole Jani discussed the EU journey to the Publisher’s Right and the state of play with regard to platforms compensating publishers for content. Georgia-Kate Schubert  discussed how Australia’s competition authority ultimately developed a mandatory code requiring platforms to pay news publishers. The session closed with a guided discussion about whether and/or what changes are needed to the copyright landscape in the US for publishers to be more fairly compensated for original content.
